I never thought they were too hard. Punishing and difficult but fair. I finished both one and two and while I died more times than I care to count, it was 99.9% of the time my fault. I wasn't good enough in that instance. I never felt like the AI was cheating or being cheap. Finishing these games gave me a sense of accomplishment I haven't experienced since.

And yes Itagaki seems like a bit of a douche, but obviously he is a douche with a vision.

Interesting thought, but then you have stuff like God of War that has a chronic habit of changing directors.

I also wonder where the line between fair and needlessly mean gets drawn. I always thought of the NG games as hard but... possible. Maybe possible. I may be wrong, but didn't Team Ninja have to send a guy over from Japan because Microsoft's own playtesters were wholly unable to finish Ninja Gaiden Black? I kind of see this as pushing the difficulty bar a touch too high.

But then, it's probable that I just hate how much of a jackarse Itagaki seems to be.

What Dylan isn't telling us is that he ordered D3 from Game.

... What? Jokes about that are stale? ALREADY!?

Also more keen on Payne, but I'll need to buy a computer with a big enough hard drive to run it first o_O

Diablo III paid for, although more excited for Max Payne 3. The multi might actually drag me online for the first time in a while.

I'm hoping to play more Stellar Impact, with 'hoping' being the key here. There's just not enough players on this so finding a match is tough. And if I do find one, I'm getting kicked out because of my low level.

Maybe I'll just watch all of Community again.

The cons you've highlighted are my key concerns about the game. There's only been (I think) 9-10 mech announced so far. Given that key features of the game revolve around customisability and collectability, the small number of mechs will be an obstacle. If I were a paying player, I wouldn't spend money if I kept cycling around the same 20-odd mechs (assuming the developers even double the number of available mechs).

I would really want to see some type of persistent universe, and larger scale battles, to give meaning to each battle. 1v1 lance-level battles are fun, but without some persistence, it just becomes a mindless grab for scrap.
