Funtime Friday: Competition
There are some weeks where it’s difficult to project what I’ll be doing on the weekend. Most of the time when I’m writing this column I haven’t slept (like now) and I’m not entirely sure that it won’t actually be the weekend by the time I wake up, making it hard to maintain any plans I might have had.
This weekend, however, isn’t one of them.

Spiky chairs not included.
1500 other gamers … that’s an awfully large figure. I’m desperately hoping that many gamers won’t turn up – imagine the BO – but it’d be quite the event if that was the case.
The poster is a bit of a misnomer as well: while there are lots of high-level serious competitions, there’s also plenty of fun events like apple bobbing, hard drive tossing, Mario Kart competitions, table tennis, GoldenEye on the Nintendo 64, Magic: The Gathering, Handball (yes, the handball you played in primary school), Keyboard Javelin, paper aeroplane throwing, Time Crisis, Kinect games and on and on and on …
Prizes and tournaments aside, it’s going to be a great event. I’m looking forward to seeing what it’s like to lug my PC to the races.
I just hope it doesn’t rain.
What’s your weekend looking like?
LAN of Thrones?
In keeping with that theme, if only there was an actual throne. But instead of swords, it was made up of keyboards and mice melted together into a huge chair.
Wish I had found out about this earlier, would have loved to have gone.
A throne comprised of melted down deodorant cans.
